NJLATS members participated in the 2024 Police Unity Tour representing the New Jersey State Police.

Members of the New Jersey Latino American Trooper Society (NJLATS) participated in the 2024 Police Unity Tour, proudly representing the New Jersey State Police. This significant event, an annual tradition that marks the beginning of National Police Week, features a rigorous bicycle ride to Washington, D.C. Participants from multiple chapters across the country embark on this journey, starting from various locations along the East Coast, and converge to ride together to the National Law Enforcement Memorial.

The primary goals of the Police Unity Tour are twofold. First, it aims to raise awareness about Law Enforcement Officers who have tragically lost their lives in the line of duty. By highlighting their sacrifices, the tour seeks to honor their memory and ensure their legacies are not forgotten. Second, the tour is a major fundraising effort for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial and Museum. The funds raised are crucial for maintaining and enhancing the memorial and museum, which serve as enduring tributes to fallen officers and educational resources about the history and significance of law enforcement in the United States.

The Police Unity Tour is more than just a bike ride; it is a deeply symbolic act of solidarity and remembrance. Riders, including NJLATS members, undertake the physical challenge to pay homage to their fallen comrades, demonstrating their commitment to the values of courage, honor, and service that define the law enforcement community. This annual event not only brings together officers from various parts of the country but also fosters a sense of unity and shared purpose, reinforcing the bonds within the law enforcement family.
