NJLATS members presented Colonel Patrick J. Callahan with a framed New Jersey State Police 100-year anniversary flag

Last week, Colonel Patrick J. Callahan met with members of the New Jersey Latino American Trooper Society (NJLATS) at Division Headquarters in West Trenton, N.J.

During the meeting, NJLATS members presented Colonel Callahan with a framed New Jersey State Police 100-year anniversary flag that was flown on December 6, 2021, in the City of Ponce, Puerto Rico, alongside the Island colors. This was done in recognition of the contingent of Troopers who traveled to the Island to mourn the loss of Sergeant Erasmo Garcia – Torres, who was tragically killed in the line duty.

The anniversary flag was officially presented to Colonel Callahan for his continued support of the Puerto Rico Police Department and Island of Puerto Rico. This year marks the five-year anniversary of natural disaster Hurricane Maria, and the New Jersey State Police response to assist the citizens of Puerto Rico which will forever link both agencies.
