On Saturday, February 18, in Union City, members of the New Jersey Latino American Trooper Society (NJLATS) volunteered at a TOPSoccer event hosted by the Union City Soccer Club. TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a recreational sports program for children and adults with intellectual, emotional, or physical disabilities offered only through local US Youth Soccer-affiliated clubs. TOPSoccer athletes were supported by New Jersey State Troopers who volunteered to be “buddies” throughout the event. The volunteers were able to show them soccer skills and ensured that they felt safe and stayed engaged.
